Join us for a backyard house show with:
Michael Peter Olsen
Cellist, film composer, producer and Grammy-nominated songwriter Michael Peter Olsen has played his “post-cello” compositions for audiences the world over — sometimes under his own name, sometimes as part of the shoegaze act Zoon. His latest album, Narrative of a Nervous shows his ability to drift between ambient and pop music with experimental grace.
Ellen Trottier
Ellen Trottier writes neo-Laurel Canyonesque lullabies to soothe anthropocene angst. She spends her time seeking harmony and transformation in artistic and political spaces, and that tends to fold itself not-so-sneakily into her music. Her first solo record will be released this fall.
Emile Benjamin
When he’s not taking photos, DJing weddings, walking his dog, or kicking out some psych country soul jams with Vancouver’s Real Ponchos, Victoria-based artist Emile Benjamin writes and sings slow folk songs in an effort to bring his meditative meanderings to light and distill a bunch of his chaotic musings down to their essence.
Doors 6 pm, music 6:30 or 7 pm
